What is food intolerance?
Food intolerance is when someone shows adverse reactions to different foods within their diet. Symptoms include bloating, headache, fatigue, diarrhoea, irritable bowel and other gastroenterology and dermatology related conditions.
Unlike a food allergy which closes up your throat, food sensitivities create chronic inflammation in the gut which can affect the way nutrients are metabolised, and if severe, allow faecal matter into your bloodstream.
Nutrismart Food Sensitivity Test
Symptoms of food intolerance can be multifaceted and can appear within a few hours or a few days after consumption of the food. This makes it rather difficult for a practitioner and the patient to identify the food responsible for the symptoms. The need then arises for a quick diagnostic tool that can identify foods causing the adverse reaction and aid the homeopathic practitioner to consider therapeutic options to alleviate the patient’s symptoms.
We use the Nutrismart Food Sensitivity Test to determine which foods you need to avoid.
The Nutrismart test allows us to test 57 various foods, from the specifics of casein (a substance found in cow’s milk) to bananas and potatoes.
We do a finger prick to get a drop of your blood, which is then analysed. The test can be taken any time of the day and fasting is not necessary.
The process is efficient and quick, taking only 30 minutes.
After the test, we discuss the impact your diet has on your health concerns. A customised rotation plan is created for you in order to reduce the inflammation, repair the gut and get you back to optimal health.
